Welcome to our May ILP meeting.
With the Spring in full bloom, with more light and warmth everyday, we will have more courage or more incentive to explore our dark side.
I'll have the pleasure to present some of my "Meeting and Integrating Our Shadow" workshop exercises (how we can peacefully come to term with our inner demons, our dysfunctional parts, the disowned parts of ourselves that end up controlling our lives and pulling the strings from our unconscious).
Please note that dark doesn't mean horrible, and we can have fun with our dark side once we open ourselves to it in a nonjudgmental way. That's the purpose of these exercises.
Before then, we'll have our potluck dinner at 6 p.m., where Anna will make a delicious nutritious soup. Or if you can't make it for dinner, please come on time so that we can start the meeting at 7 p.m.
We look much forward to it and we also look forward to seeing you there.
Anna and Jacques
PS
For those of you that are new and those returning to our meetings, what follows is a short overview to give our current structure and an idea of the unfolding of the evening.
Toronto ILP Cross-Training Team
Personal, Experiential and Integral Community Development
- What we do: We share our own personal life experiences and practices in their diversity and complexity. We use Wilber's AQAL approach as a guide/framework and respect each team member's evolving worldview. The emphasis of our meetings is on first-person sharing, talking as "I" about our challenges and successes, and our intentions and growing edges in all quadrants. As a team, we are there to learn together, share perspectives, and stretch each other. We hold open highest potential for our growth individually and collectively. We offer some time in bodhisatva consciousness for well-being in our human family
- Our Team Agreements: Respectful listening and non-judgement of everyone's experience, support for every member's growth in all quadrants and lines, and willingness to engage honestly and creatively.
Fluid structure of a regular meeting:
- potluck dinner at 6:00 pm
- meeting starting at 7:00 with a 10 min. meditation/grounding exercise;
- 30-60 min. personal sharing;
- 45-60 min. for an experiential exercise, practice or learning activity lead by one or more members;
- 15 min. debriefing and sharing;
- 10 min. closing meditation.
