This practice will be a sharing - if you have a practice that you would like to offer if you email me I will arrange a kind of structure for the evening. I am offering an Integral Movie night - as yet I am not sure what we will watch. I am thinking about RELIGULOUS

Bill Maher travels to Israel, England, the Netherlands, Vatican City, and across America, speaking to people about faith and religion in the very funny documentary RELIGULOUS. Maher, a stand-up comedian who has hosted the talk shows POLITICALLY INCORRECT on ABC and REAL TIME on HBO and has written such bestsellers as DOES ANYBODY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT? and WHEN YOU RIDE ALONE, YOU RIDE WITH BIN LADEN, reaches out to religious leaders as well as regular folk on the street, discussing the existence of God and the importance of organised religion.

Maher makes it clear from the start that he is not a fan of religion and does not believe in God, and he has fun skewering people who do--including Christians, Jews, Muslims, and Mormons, rabbis, priests, politicians, scientists, evangelical ministers, and even a preacher whose church is a converted truck. He also visits such places as the Holy Land Experience in Orlando, Florida, where he interviews the actor who plays Jesus in a live show there, and the Red Light District in Amsterdam, notorious for its legalised drugs and prostitution. As he has done on his television programs and in his books, Maher questions literal interpretations of the Bible, seeing it more as a collection of fairy tales.

Let me know if you would like to offer a practice and see you on the 18th.

Hi all

Our next practice will be on the 27/11/09.

Over the past few months it has felt like we have not spent time in meditation. So I think we will spend most of the practice working through the four core aspects of ILP using meditation work. Therefore do please dress warm and in loose clothing. The following day it you would like to join me I am planning to go along to London Zazenkai Stonewater Zen (72 Holloway Road) for three half-hour periods of zazen, with walking meditation and chanting.

Also if you want to read my field report from the Integral Leadership Conference - check out
http://www.integralleadershipreview.com/archives/2009-10/2009-10-16-notes-hawke.php

Further away - I am thinking that the December practice could a a social event - or a social practice - this would be open to all and would be a great way of meeting each other face to face and getting to know where everyone is at.

Well see you all on the 27th.

Well here we go – October’s session will be on the 23/10/09. I will have been back from the Integral leadership in Action conference for 24 hours, so it should be a great session.

I am also looking to promote our group outside Meet Up, I have linked up with Whole Life Whole World. This looks to be a very exciting prospect for ILP in London.

I am hoping that I can asked for your help – if you have been to a session it would be great if you could email me a short paragraph describing your experience, I would like to used the feedback as part of the publicity for the ILP group.

I will be writting a blog for Whole Life Whole World during the Integral conference – all details can be found here http://wholelifewholeworld.com/

Take care and see you on the 23rd.

As always we will touch in with the four core modules of ILP - Body Mind Spirit and Shadow.

The group is open fun and simple - it is a great way to feel into AQAL as a practice. You do not need to have read any of ken's work; just come along and play.

The ILP group gives you a chance to meet with others looking to develop an Integral Practice or to deepen their practice by engaging within the four dimentions of being.

The Body
The Mind
The Spirit
The Shadow.

The group is open to all and does not require any knowledge of Ken Wilber’s Integral Theory. The group aims to help introduce you to Ken’s ideas as a practice or to deepen your understanding of Integral Life Practice.

The group will be run by Gary Hawke

Who is Gary Hawke

On completing his three year Acting Diploma at The Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts, Gary Hawke performed in Community and Physical Theatre along with developing drama based personal development workshops for the socially excluded.

For the research on his Post Graduate Certificate of Education at Greenwich University Gary worked with the homeless and drug users, integrating emotional awareness, cognitive development, supportive relationships and strong social structures to provide an integral training programme aimed at helping the participants developed positive independent living skills.

This work along with the Prison education management work Gary current undertakes lead him to achieve the Institute for Learning level 5 teacher status licence.

Gary’s investigation into how an Integral Perspective could support transformational change, lead to him attended the 3 year Health Professions Council Dramatherapy training at Roehamptom University. His Dramatherapy work has allowed Gary to explore Integral Transformative practice in his professional work with both children and adults.

In 2005 Gary and his partner set up Confluent Living which has provided Integral informed workshops for Actors, Support workers, Mentors, Managers, Teacher and Therapists.

2006 saw Gary begin to facilitate the London Integral Life Practice Group which meets once a month with an occasional day long practice. In July 2008 Gary facilitated the Introduction to ILP with the co-creator of ILP Terry Patten and in October 2008 he was invited to run the morning ILP session in Boulder for the Integral Leadership in Action Conference.

He has been invited back to the Integral Leadership in Action Conference in October 2009 where he will be a guest on the open panel along with Jeff Salzman, Terry Patten, Zak Stein, Clint Fuhs, and Robb Smith. He will also be running a 90 min session on ILP as a model of support for turbulence and transformation, along with offering morning sessions

Gary continues to deepening the ILP sessions by integrating both the structure and framework of ILP.

Not the end of the month - this month. But the 17th. Again sorry about the short notice. We will meet at The Window. At the moment I am not sure if we will have the large room or the meeting room - if we are the meeting room we might work through Big Mind

wherever we are we will have a deep ILP session. Also remember we have been invited to the London Salon and it would be great to use the session to explain what ILP means to you.

Take Care.

I wanted to invite you all to the next London Salon Meeting - I have been asked to talk about ILP and I was hoping that if you have been to a Practice you would like to come along to the talk and chat about your own experience of ILP.
This is the post that has gone out this in the London Salon group.

Hello Everyone,
Usually we hold our salons on the first Wednesday evening of each month, but in
April we will meet on the second Wednesday,8 April. This means there is no salon
next week on 1 April.

Our topic is Integral Life Practice and our presenter will be Gary Hawke. This
will be a great opportunity to see and experience and how theory meets practice
on a personal level.

Integral Life Practice - A Framework and Structure for Life.

Gary will take the group through Integral Life Practice both as a Structure and
a Framework. This will be an experiential session in which you will be invited
to inquire into your own practice within an ILP structure and help you define
your own practice leading to a deeper experience of your original face.

Whether you are new to ILP or have been a practitioner for a while, I think you
will find Gary has a wonderful and unique way of leading groups through the
experience. I know I have enjoyed his groups quite a lot myself.

Time/location
Wed. 7, April, 7:00pm (Please arrive promptly, but not before 7pm.)
Our usual venue in Hampstead.

(If you're coming for the first time, and aren't coming along with someone who's
already attended our salon, please give me a quick call beforehand to introduce
yourself.)

At the end I will be collecting voluntary donations to cover the
cost of our drink and snacks.

I hope to see you then.

Best regards,

Michael Dewan-Herrick
