You have to make an effort to get there -- But that is part of it!!! Like making an effort to be loving to someone, or making an effort to cook dinner for others.... But this is an effort that you are making for yourself!! When you have the INTENTION to practice, and then carry through with that intention, that is a recognition of the Basic Goodness in yourself -- the ground of meditation. And the practice sessions that Gary leads are wonderful -- they help to break down the ego boundaries... and doing practice together pulls us away from the cognitive mind games that can dominate a group that talks philosophy all the time!!
